Synopsis

The Play begins with appearance of personified CORONA Virus. He appears to be very happy. Here nobody wears mask or maintains social distance. He was spreading rapidly and merrily. Suddenly, he observed that some indigenous people gathered who were trying to educate people about Corona and how all should protect themselves from Corona. They were singing and beating the drums (Madol) to assemble people. Wherever they were going, people were becoming aware and alert about the havoc of Corona. He was afraid now. Corona planned to stop this group, but his endeavour was in vain.

Why this Play

Corona / Covid 19 was not given proper attention about its severity by common men. We started our production at that very early stage of Corona Pandemic in April, 2020 so that could reach maximum people to make them aware of Covid 19.

Synopsis : Bidyadhari - Ek CChai Chhapal Aagun Synopsys Once a group of villagers discovered bizarre sound coming from below the Mother Earth. They met a hidden river who is actually subterranean . Over hundreds of years the River tried to disclose her existence but nobody heard. Now some of the villagers discovered ,felt and have a dialogue with the River. The River narrated how she was vanished and lost. Villagers pledged and assured to bring back the River on the earth. Why this Play Director’s Note The actors and actresses who have acted in this Play are all from the place where the river is flowing subterranean. During the discussion with these boys and girls at the workshop , we gathered many information which were further co- related to the causes and impact of a lost river by these artists. Honouring the thought process of this new young generation artists , I created this production in a improvised way. At this critical age of global warming when the world is challenged , I sincerely believe that creating awareness amongst common men and women who are least bothered about the apprehensive thread on nature is essential and thus I have involved sons and daughters of the land to make the Production. Artists of the Production During Pandemic situation which were further aggravated by Amphan super Cyclone, the Pragya Cultural Centre concentrated fully on holistic serviceS to the tribal villages of south 24 Parganas where mainly Oraon, Munda and Bhumijas tribals live. During this period , we conducted a special workshop for 100 TRIBAL boys and girls of 18-21 years and 20 persons were selected for the final production of the play VIDYADHARI.

Synopsis :Once upon a time, there was a king. He was an accepted emperor of his kingdom, His concern for the people, his idea of welfare for society and thrive was praised but he was worried about the extreme conditions. He was more of a heart person. People were happy with their not-so- enduring problems, lucid solutions and a coveted simplicity of life. But Problems do not always stay trivi1al; they crave to be complex, giant, extreme. And our king starts to fail providing solution for a large part of them, hence becomes perplexed. Here comes the venture of Global consumerism. The fierce urge of hierarchy is somewhere a start of ownfall. The competitive studies of the socio-economic aspects are always better if digested properly. Our king conceives the Idea but does not know how to merge them with the need of the mob. The rather unfair implementation of any idea, no matter how great or modern it is, brings misery. The play is a possible humorous and sarcastic presentation of the story. The giant leap towards modernity and the difference from necessity makes us fall apart.
